The Constitution Party of Texas: Protecting Principles Since 1992

The Constitution Party of Texas draws upon a rich legacy of constitutional governance dating back to 1992. Today, operating as a fully independent political party in the Lone Star State, we remain unwaveringly dedicated to restoring our government to its Constitutional boundaries and Biblical foundations. Our history is rooted in a steadfast commitment to the Seven Principles that define our identity: Life, Liberty, Property, Family, the Original Intent of the Constitution, States' Rights, and American Sovereignty.

For over three decades, we have provided a principled alternative for Texans who seek integrity, liberty, and prosperity. We believe that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are the greatest documents ever produced for the governance of man. Our mission is to ensure their profound truths are upheld in every legislative session and at every ballot box across Texas. Join us as we continue to stand for the principles that made our nation great.

1. Life

We acknowledge that the right to life is given by our Creator and is the first unalienable right recognized in the Declaration of Independence. We are dedicated to protecting all innocent human life from fertilization to natural death, without exception or compromise, as the foundational duty of any just government.

2. Liberty

Individual liberty is a gift from God, and the purpose of government is to secure that liberty for every citizen. We champion the freedom of conscience, the right to keep and bear arms, and the exercise of personal responsibility. We oppose the expansion of government authority that encroaches upon the private lives of Texans.

3. Property

Private property rights are essential to a free and prosperous society. We believe that every individual has the right to own, control, and enjoy the fruits of their labor. We advocate for the substantial reduction of the tax burden and oppose any regulatory taking or eminent domain abuse that undermines ownership.

Statement of Principles

4. Family

The traditional family, founded on the union of one man and one woman, is the essential bedrock of a healthy society. We support the sovereign rights of parents to raise and educate their children according to their own values and beliefs, free from state interference or indoctrination.

5. Original Intent

We adhere to the original intent of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Governance must return to the strict limits defined by the Founding Fathers. We reject judicial activism and administrative overreach, maintaining that only the law as written should govern our Republic.

6. American Sovereignty

The United States must remain a free and independent nation. We oppose all treaties, alliances, and international organizations—including the United Nations—that threaten American sovereignty or compromise our constitutional form of government. Texas, too, must protect its jurisdictional independence.
