The Murder of Louis Erebia: Texas Judges Like Te’iva Bell Knowingly Free Violent Criminals to Prey on Citizens

Louis Erebia, a devoted father and hero. After his son’s truck was stolen at gunpoint, Louis used GPS to track it down, confronted the thieves, and shielded a young family friend from gunfire—taking fatal shots to save him.

A true hero whose life was cut short protecting his family and community.

May God bless your soul, Louis.

One of the thieves, and the criminal who murdered Louis, is a violent felon and repeat offender, London Hogan.

In March, 2024, Hogan was sentenced to 5 years probation for a violent assault against his then-girlfriend. The assault included attempted strangulation.

The judge in the case - Harris County Judge Te’iva Bell (339th District Court) - is a Black female who campaigned for the position on the platforms of “Criminal Justice Reform” and “Restorative Justice.” The basic tenet of these platforms is the fraudulent claim that the criminal justice system is unfair to Black criminals and even practices “systemic racism” against them. The remedy to this alleged injustice is to give Black criminals lighter sentences.

That is exactly what Bell did in the felony assault case against London Hogan, who is also Black. Five years probation. No jail time.

It only took 10 months for Hogan to violate his probation. In January of 2025, he was arrested in Louisiana on drug smuggling charges.

Rather than enforce the terms of his sentence and revoke probation, Judge Bell chose to keep the probation intact, and sentenced Hogan to only 30 days in jail. That’s why he was free to carjack Erebia’s son at gunpoint, attempt to murder his son’s friend and murder Mr. Erebia.

Hogan is 36 years old and has an extensive criminal record. He has been arrested at least 12 times. Here is only a partial account of his known felonies/convictions:

• Assault family violence (choking girlfriend, 2023 incident; pled guilty 2025)

• Burglary of a habitation (e.g., 2010 conviction)

• Unauthorized use of a vehicle / auto theft (2021 conviction)

• Multiple felony drug possession (2015-2016)

• Louisiana drug smuggling attempt (Jan 2025 arrest; probation violation)

*Lengthy record with additional felonies, some dismissed (felon in possession, child endangerment).

The full details of his record are limited/suppressed in public reports.

And there’s the rub… Why does our own government suppress this information and keep it hidden from the law-abiding citizens they claim to serve?

Another question must also be asked: At what point has a person demonstrated that they have zero care or concern about following the laws and upholding the minimal standards of a functioning citizen in a civilized society?

How does any judge look at this career criminal history and grant probation after he is found guilty of assaulting and choking his girlfriend?

Then, after he violates the terms of probation in less than one year - on a drug smuggling charge, no less - how does any judge not enforce the terms of that probation by revoking it, and has him serve his already lenient 5-year sentence?

Judge Bell does not just need to be removed from her position. She needs to be criminally prosecuted for her role in the murder of Louis Erebia. She knowingly released a violent felon to prey upon the public she claims to serve. She should be charged, prosecuted and convicted to the fullest extent of the law.
